Bono + fair trade clothing

hee guys,

check this out: Bono of U2 and his wife have a clothing line based on sustainability and fair trade.

“EDUN is a socially conscious clothing company launched in Spring 2005 by Ali Hewson and Bono. The company’s mission is to create beautiful clothing while fostering sustainable employment in developing areas of the world, particularly Africa.”

“EDUN is both beauty and brains. Part rock & roll, part punk rock, EDUN pulls intellectual inspiration from the 1920’s Berlin Weimar culture combined with the artistic romance stirred by the art nouveau movement in Paris of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.”

“The EDUN branding includes signature prints and graphics. The Rainer Maria Rilke poem The Eighth Elegy is imprinted inside the pocket of our jeans as well as the inscription “we carry the story of the people who make our clothes around with us.” Taping on jackets, tops and denim also bears this slogan. Additional branding details include black lacquered buttons and pins, grograin and velvet ribbon, and shiny black zippers.”
